My name is Jeff but feel free to call me Jackley. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and spend my Mondays-through-Fridays as a motion designer at Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Oregon. The things I work on range from animating across 47 displays in the middle of Times Square to solving complex visual challenges in VR and AR, so I guess you can say I’m something of a hybrid.
Does an Artist + Animator + Programmer = a Technical Motion Designer? Personally, I think that a Technical Motion Designer accurately describes the type of work that I do. From pitch to product, I work closely with the Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Account Team to help push through creative concepts by providing rich animations, VR prototypes and mobile AR applications. The team I work with is a small and nimble group of animators and interactive developers that operates like an internal/external vendor for the entire agency, including all of its brands.
The projects I work on at W+K are usually secret for a long time … until they’re not. This is why most of my work is not posted on my site. I am happy to send links and videos of my work upon request, so feel free to drop me a line. I am very passionate about the work that I do and get excited by the inspiring people around me. So let’s talk if you want to collaborate, chat, or have a project that you’re curious about.
